About the Book The knowledge and literature that has been born in the Kannada language has to reach non-Kannadigas as widely as possible. We have to introduce Kannada to people in the other states of the country via English only. Dr Shivarama Karanth is a well-known novelist in Kannada. Though he has made immense contributions to other fields, he is most famous as a novelist. Some of his novels have already been translated into English. Though critics might not have paid much attention to ‘The Same Village, The Same Tree,’ it is nonetheless a notable work.
